Foundation Work Prep Continues

Construction is moving steadily along at Holy Apostles. The crews are focused on foundation work right now, which includes setting rebar (reinforcing bar). Rebar adds the missing strength. When the concrete hardens around the steel, the two materials work together to create a much stronger, more stable structure.), building the formwork for upcoming concrete pours, and preparing the underslab areas.

In the photos, you can see the trenches that were opened for utilities, the rebar grids being tied in place, and the wooden forms that will shape the concrete walls and footings. Some areas also show moisture barriers and insulation being installed before the slab goes in. These steps create the base for the classrooms, kitchen, offices, and entry areas that will follow.
